Beryl 0.2.0 RC1 Released
Feb 1, 2006 -- Yeah it is out. This is a preview release of the upcomming Beryl 0.2.0 which has been branched off into its more or less final form minus a couple bug fixes. It does have a couple known bugs, so be aware. The 3D animations and heliodor still doesn't play nice all the time and Nvidia users will still experience the same tired black window bug (driver issue). Also there has been a slight change to how beryl-xgl is produced, so if your package doesn't have the beryl-xgl binary, poke your package maintainer for a fix.
Major Changes from 0.1.5:

Users can expect the release to hit repos within the next couple days depending on your distribution. Hopefully this will be the first and only release candidate between now and 0.2.0. A more complete changelog can be found on Trac.

Beryl 0.1.4 Released
Dec 26, 2006 -- We are happy today to announce
the release of Beryl 0.1.4! This release signifies the fifth major
developer release of Beryl and the beginning of Beryl's freeze for
our current stable target 0.2.0. The plugins you see in this are the
plugins you will be playing with on 0.2.0, though some of them are
bound to change and improve. Release notes are again not done (DBO
is on an unscheduled vacation) but he'll be getting those out shortly.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all, from everyone here at
The Beryl Project.

Forums Down
Dec 11, 2006 -- The forums are experiencing a bit
of down time right now. Please bear with us while the issue is being
worked on. The issue seems to be with the MySQL server right now, more
updates to come on the blog if progress is not made shortly.

Website Updates
Dec 11, 2006 -- Several updates made to the main website today
inlcuding updates tot his very page. The news sidepanel now includes mini
blurbs, the broken themes link has been removed, and the
New Developers rough cut
guide has been uploaded. Hopefully some people will find it useful, it does
contain some new material for new devs, but only enough to get them going right
now.

Dec 9, 2006 -- Today The Beryl Project announces its 0.1.3 release
of the Beryl window manager. Release tarballs are already available to
maintainers and packages should be hitting your repo soon if they have not
already. This release features several improvements and overall updates to the
Beryl feature base, as well as a wide array of feature updates. Beryl 0.1.3
marks the first release to include the KDE Window Decorator named Aquamarine as
well as the GTK Window Decorator (ported from compiz) which has been renamed
Heliodor. More information about the release can be found in the
release notes.

Dec 9, 2006 -- The official Beryl roadmap has received a minor update
today after it became clear that a bit of misinformation about the history of
Beryl had made it through to the final version. It had previously stated that
patched from Compiz were difficult to install without massaging, and while this
has been true of some patches, it is not true all the time. The history has
since been updated to reflect a more realistic representation. This is my
fault and Im really quite sorry. Some things slip under the radar...
